NAIA Trade Mission 2017 Was A Big Success!

The HKTDC Food Expo and Belt & Road Trade Mission 2017 organized by North America Investment Association (NAIA) has been successfully completed after a series of trade show, promotion and business exchange activities in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Jiangmen from August 17 to 23, 2017.

On August 17-19, in the Trade Hall of HKTDC Food Expo 2017 in Hong Kong , NAIA organized a Canada Pavilion to showcase Canadian quality wines, agri-food and seafood products, including: icewines, red wines, white wines and blueberry wines from famous Canadian wineries, dried blueberries, dried cranberries, granolas, dried sea cucumber, American ginseng, specialty organic foods, various health foods and health supplements, inhale coffee products, candies, snacks, etc.

After the Opening Ceremony on August 17th, Mr. Jeff Nankivell, the Canadian Consul General in Hong Kong, and other four consul and trade commissioners, visited the booths of the Canada Pavilion organized by NAIA, greeted the exhibitors and wished them a big success. During the trade show, many trade buyers from Italy, Thailand, India, the Philippines, Malaysia, Japan, the mainland China, Hong Kong, Macao and other countries and regions visited the Canada Pavilion, and had talks with the exhibitors. Mr. Parag Gupta, Joint Secretary of the Indian Food Processing Ministry and Mr. Rohit Bahl, Project Associate of Trade Fairs Division of the Indian Industry Association, and Mr. Steven Cheng, Executive Director of FMC Exhibition Co., Ltd., the organizer of the first Belt & Road International Food Expo in Hong Kong, met respectively with Ms. Amy Huang, President of North America Investment Association to discuss potential cooperation opportunities. NAIA has been invited to be the supporting organization of the first Belt & Road International Food Expo to be held on June 28, 2018 in Hong Kong .

After the trade show, the delegation continued to visit Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Jiangmen of Guangdong Province of China from 20 to 23 August 2017. The delegates include not only Canadian food exporters, but also other Canadian businessmen and companies from other industries. For example, high-tech VR / AR companies, e-commerce companies, jade and mining companies, resorts and hotels and so on.

When visiting Shenzhen on August 20-21, NAIA signed cooperation agreements with Shenzhen Five Eight Superior Technology Co., Ltd. to established a Canada Pavilion in the Belt & Road International Pavilions (BRIP) located in the Jingmao City of Shenzhen. The BRIP provides one stop year-round, full range of trade show and other promotion services, and has attracted France, Greece, Russia, Europe, South Korea, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand and other countries to set up their pavilions.

During their visit to Guangzhou on August 22, China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Guangdong Committee (CCPIT Guangdong) organized the China (Guangdong) - Canada Economic and Trade Exchange Conference to welcome and do business exchange and matching with the delegation led by the North America Investment Association. The attending Guangdong companies and business associations include: CCPIT Guangdong and Guangdong Chamber of International Commerce, China Foreign Trade Center, Guangdong Food Import Association, Guangdong Cross-border E-commerce Association, Guangzhou Aoziya Import-Export Trading Company Limited. and Guangzhou Yineng Commercial & Enterprises Co., Ltd. and so on.

On August 23, Jiangmen Bureau of Commerce, Jiangmen Foreign Affairs & Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau and Pengjiang District Government of Jiangmen Municipality, respectively, organized business exchange and matching meetings to welcome NAIA trade delegation. Attendees of the meetings included: Mr. Zhou Wen, Director of Jiangmen Foreign Affairs and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau , Mr. Zhao Ruisi, Director of Jiangmen Bureau of Commerce, Ms. Wenli, First Deputy Chief of Pengjiang District Government of Jiangmen municipality, Guangdong Keju High And New Technology Business Incubator Co., Ltd., Jiangmen Electronic Commerce Industry Association, GUIA (Jiangmen) Bakery Food Co., Ltd., Jiangmen Sims Trading Co., Ltd., Suntree Industrial Co., Ltd., Jiangmen Eagle Eye Yinglian Business Co., Ltd. and Jiangmen Ailian payment Technology Co., Ltd. and so on.
